For this week's Illustration Friday: heavy and for Easter.

Done with coffee, watercolours, and little bit of watercolour pencils.

13.5 x 21.2 cm, Canson's Montval 300 g/m² watercolor paper

I encourage those of you who celebrate Easter to reflect on it just as you do during Christmas time.

That's very powerful, I can feel the heaviness of the cross. I like the fact that he seems to be hugging it, and there is determination and a degree of lightness to how he holds it. Somehow the joy of the sacrifice is in there.

I like the cloth very much, also great job on the hands and hair. Yay for coffee! :D
I fully agree with Starry. Great painting.

Ich find's übrigens toll, wie fleißig du in letzter Zeit bist! Weiter so!!

Thanks!
I am trying my best at making full use of my time off university and do what I have actually always wanted to do. Maybe it'll pay off after all!

Ich versuche mein Bestes, meine vorlesungsfreie Zeit voll auszunutzen und das zu tun, was ich eigentlich schon immer machen wollte. Vielleicht führt es ja doch zu irgendwas!
I'm pretty sure it will pay off!

Only He could bare the cross. It is beautiful and an inspiration.

For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands. ~Isaiah 55
Thank you James! May you have a blessed Holy Week!
Simply touching and moving...
